Aim. The aim of this site is to display a pictorial catalogue of First Day Covers issued by, or related to, The Corps of

Royal Engineers. It is hoped that this web-site will provide a reference centre for people wanting information on Royal

Engineer First Day Covers. The term "First Day Covers" is used as a convenience to encompass First Day Covers, First

Day Issues and Commemorative Covers.

Organisation of the Web Pages. This web-site is organised into the following pages:

* RE Series No A set of numbered covers issued by the R.E. to mark important moments in the Corps history.

* RE Special Covers A set of covers issued by the R.E. to commemorate special occasions as they happened.

* RE Mixed Covers Individual First Day Covers issued by the R.E. or by Units within the R.E.

* Postal & Courier Services First Day Covers issued by the Postal & Courier Services, R.E.

* RE Related Covers First Day Covers issued by others outside of the R.E but do have some connection to the R.E.

* Links Links to other web-sites that we find interesting.

Your Participation. The covers shown on the web-site are not an exhaustive list and I would like to appeal for your

help. If you have a Royal Engineer First Day Cover not shown on this web-site would you please consider sending me

the details by email and perhaps adding a clear scan of the cover. This will be for my information purposes only.

Knowledge and Experiences. If you have any knowledge or experiences relating to the history and the issuing of

Royal Engineer Covers I would be very grateful if you could drop me an email as it would be very interesting to find out

who actually issued the different series /individual covers and why. i.e. Royal Engineers, British Forces Postal Service,

Post Office, private organisation etc. This could be then used as background information on each web-page. All

contributions no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.
